I've been thinking about buying a better mic preamp, I've also been contemplating the UA computer card plug in.
Now they have the 4-710d & UAD-2 Quad for 2K.

Eventually I want to get a ribbon mic, maybe the Royer 121 for micing my guitar cab? and a better mic for acoustic guitar and vocals. Sure KSM ??? Nueman??
and the UAD-2 Quad how are they and are they worth the cash? is there something comparable for less $$$ ???
I'm using the Tascam US1800, Sonar X1 producer. I already have a ART MPA Gold pre. Using M-Audio BX8a monitors.
Or should I use the cash for better monitors?
The UA package deal seems pretty good, I can always get better monitors, just a matter of saving for 6mos.
