I like it!
It's definitely different, but this is the kind of diversity you need. I like the drums on the verses a lot, they're more hard-hitting and less "processed" sounding than on your older stuff. I like the vocal harmonies too. And the guitar sound is nice, I could be wrong but it sounds like you're backing off on the distortion a little... very nice. And the bass sound is more out front, sounds like you got a little compression going there... All in all, a stong song, a nice departure from your other material... And you didn;t really use any of the things you've used in your other songs, like vocal distortion or chopped-up vocals...
. Thanks also for the comments on the tones. I don't think I did anything special though -- just lucked out with some solid keyboard patches...
. And no, we don't have a booth -- our whole set-up is as unprofessional as you could imagine, squeezed into a little 2nd story bedroom with hardwood floors and a couple windows. It's laughable in terms of sound-proofing, but I hope to do something with it sometime. If I can swing it, I'll see if I can upload a photo sometime -- I think everyone would get a kick out of it. That'd be a good thread actually -- show us your studio! May have to consider that...
