understanding spec's is something i don't do well at all, and i know nearly nothing about microphones, all i've got is a bunch of old dynamics, and i just test 'em relative to the instrument i want to mic......based on the specs of this mic, what do y'all think?

what would you call a reasonable price for this mic, based on the specs?

how much info can you get just looking at specs?

wtf do they all mean?

and its obvious that you won't get as much info from the specs as you would from listening, but thats not as easy as walking down the street for me.....nearest good music store is 200km away, i just want to gain a better understanding of what all the specs mean

thanks

Doc, specs don't tell the whole story on any piece of gear. They're helpful but can be decieving. This is one of the many Chinese off the shelf mics. They're not horrible but they are what they are. I have no experience with this particular mic but do with a few of the Bejing Beasties. You can expect a hyped high end response. If you can get your hands on one try it out, it might be what you're looking for.

dont they called that little white piece on chicken shit a "spec"?.....

Id go with a more "proven" mic if you are going to buy it "sight unseen"....the Marshall MXLv67 and the Studio Projects C1 would be the ones I and many here have experience with and have found to be very versatile and sound great.....SP for sure has an Austrailian dealer...not sure about MXL....
