Well then...

That's not so bad. Sounds natural enough.

Maybe my problems are because (for this project) I'm using it at 44.1. I also haven't tweaked the settings. Sorry for the bad rap.

no bad rap just different strokes for different folks maybe

It also sounds great @ 44.1 too, which is my usual sample rate. YMMV

Got it installed....

A little progress report/review.

Installed the card without a hitch.I was dissapointed that it did'nt come with a printed manual, but I suppose that's the way things are going.

Ran through all the plugs quickly and also piled them up in one project to see when the cards cpu would hit a wall.

The plugs are to my highly unskilled ears really good.I even found the channel strip plugs to be better than the Cakewalk stuff.I'm really impressed with the EQ''s,and I find EQ boring.
Nigel beats the pants off revalver and is useable.

I'm having one problem though,I can't get Kompakt and either Pultec to work together in the same project. The audio engine stays off, even with increased latency.
I'm going to dig into this deeper and keep on playing around with the plugs.

BTW,I think I may have been happy with the project pack.I've been using the channel strip and Realverb to save on cpu's and they're darn good.Still those other plugs are soooo good. I can see why a lot of people want multiple cards,I've had mine installed three whole days and I already want another one. :o

Thanks again! :)

Here's a christmas present to save you the money of another card.....

There is talk over at the UAD forum of guys going for 5&6 cards. I would be happy with a 2nd card.

5&6? I thought only 4 in a computer?

There are external buss expanders you can get to go higher than a motherboard provides.

Only 4 per license,if you wanted the full Studio pack on the the fifth card, you'd have to pay full price.

I'm still on S3,although I could clone/apply effects/mute original.I was only joking as I have plenty other toys I'd like to have but lack sufficient funds for.
As far as the freeze,it's nice to be able to tweak everything as it's running,so freeze is a compromise by todays standards.

I did not know that about 4 licenses. Good data.

The Freeze in 4 is pretty fast, the unfreeze even faster. It gives you unlimited UAD-1 usage which is very nice. It only becomes a pain if you work your way into a corner on compression and do not like the mix. Unfreezing all the tracks then becomes a pain and you have to remove all the instances to start fresh. However, I keep a virign copy of the mix and just reference back or start over with the this data if things go south. Usually I am only 3-4 plug ins short on the mix, meaning beyond the max the card allows. This feature has saved me several times. That said, I will be getting #2 card in the future.

My point being,is that the ability to do all this stuff in real time and on the fly is here,it's our inability to pay for it that keeps us from doing it.

Still it's unfair to look five years back without looking thirty years back.Imagine what a hardware rack of these plugs woud've set you back?

acid,

If you run across any issues with offline processing...ring me up.

Thanks but...

I'll keep you in mind.
