I bought one now which plugins should I get with my 500.00 bucks?

Dont you get a demo of all the plug ins for 2 weeks or so? Try em all and see what you like :)

Definitely check out the demos.
If push came to shove I think you could get by with one or the other compressor.

I have the Studio pak and I'm thinking about buying the flexi pak so I can get the plate verb and tape echo plugs, not to mention the extra processing power.

Definitely try out the channel strip plugs that come with it,they're good enough to change your priorities.

Yeah I'm just demoing these as well right now, and mulling over the same thing.

For me the LA2A, Pultec Pro and Plate 140 are top of the list. I was originally going to get the 1176LN, but now I'm thinking maybe the SE version might be sufficient and I could drop the $150 on something else

I use the LA2A most of the time. It's very easy to use and I haven't really figured out what I should use the 1176 on.

I would've bought the ultrapak, but it wasn't out when I purchased my card.

I went with the flexipack cause it came with the studio pack plugs + 500.00 bucks It was like paying 120.00 bucks for the card. :) Yeah I get to demo them all but i still want to know what everyone else thinks I should get.

LA2A is definitley on my list...

Maybe I should hold out till the Neve plugs come out. :p

Curse UA! Why don't I just set up a payroll deduction to pay for their plugs! :o

OK, for the plugs right now, for mixing, I'd get:

Pultec Pro
Plate 140
LA2A
1176LN

The flexi pak comes with the Project Pak plugs. The Studio Pak has a greater quantity of plugs, but the flexi pak lets you pick the ones you want/need or some that aren't on the studio pak.

I would choose the LA2A,Plate verb and Roland plugs. There's supposed to be a tape echo plug in the works that is probably going to drive me over the edge.

If you're planning on doing "home mastering" that would make a big difference on what plugs you choose.I have Ozone so I have no interest in the mastering plugs.

I'm super happy with my card,as are most people.Good luck with yours.

Hey ms do you think the 1176LN is worth the extra $150, or just stick with the 1176SE and get the Fairchild or one of the Precision plugs

Precision Limiter is golden if you are mastering your own stuff. If not it's not too useful. The Fairchild vs. LN is a matter of taste; I picked the LN.
