Hi guys, just a quick question.

I have seen a used U87 P48 for £500 ($900). Its from the mid 80s, comes with a swivel mount, and has had the diaphraghm replaced. Its in very good condition.

Does anyone know if this is a good price? ...thats all! thanks,

sach

Yes, if it is in good condition and it has been replaced with an original diaphram, its a good deal and will be a great mic for you.

If possible, have it checked by someone competent to do so.
They are VERY expensive oftentimes to bring up to original "specs".

ASSUMING it's in fine working condition, that's a great deal IMHO. :)

Thanks guys.

Ronan, the diaphragm replaced is exactly the same as the original I'm told.
Chessparov, its from a private seller, so I dont know how it would be possible to have it checked out before buying it, unless you have any ideas! I'd have to buy it over the post without seeing it first, so I'm a little hesitant.

Here's a pic of it (if this pic link works):

one of my friend had an used U87.
got it repaired by some one.
no one can tell the difference between an original U87.
after that , my friend sold the mic at 500 USD and told me that the replaced capsule is a "Made in China" .

You have to upload the picture to a website and link it from there. You can't just make the address to your harddrive.
