Tune I'm excited about - Thoughts?

The song is decent enough. The big problem here is your vocal performance. You have a decent tone but you are not hitting the high notes. The drums are too quiet except the cymbal. The electric guitar sound is pale and thin which may suit the song but it is a bit too dull in my opinion. You aren't getting any real distinction between the instruments in this mix. Better than some but needs work.
 
Good tune! You have a Neil Young quality to your voice...I wish I could give you mix advice, but I can only listen in lo-fi :(

I like the lyrics and the tune moves along nicely. During the fade of the song, the vocals sound a wee bit too loud compared to the rest of the instruments. I do like the electric coming in at the end. Nice touch.

Shit. I recorded and mixed this with headphones on, breaking my own rule because I was excited about it. Listening to the mix I think the vocals are a bit flat in places. I think I might redo them.
 
Hey man, nice song. Vocals could use a little tweaking IMO, but they are not that bad. Nice easy going vibe to this song. The biggest thing I noticed is that when the elec guit comes in toward the end, it's pretty smokin'. Good stuff. Howeve it seems like the snare get's buried there. Maybe all the set. It would be nice for the drums to help drive this one home a little bit IMHO.

Indeed, a nice song. Tighten up the rhythm section and work on your vocals: it's way too modest, you sing it like you're not quite sure if you can pull it off! Try to seperate the words from each other a little, I'm sure a better diction might help you to reach those high notes. They're in your range, so don't worry about it!

This sounds pretty cool to me. I like your voice, the Neil Young comparison fits.

Bass flub up that really stands out around 1:00. Could use more bottom in general.

Do something to beef up the electric rhythm part (1:07) if you can - probably would have to retrack. I like the part, but the tone needs work.

Acoustic is pretty high-endy, but I think most people like it that way.

Great song, nice performance. With a little work this will be very cool - not bad as it is.
 
I didn't really notice the bass screwup until I heard it on my friends computer with the bass full up. That will have to be redone. As I said, I will have to redo the vocal - all your comments are noted. I assume fprod that you mean the electric rhythm needs a thicker tone? I think you're right. It does sound a little thin. I don't mind the acoustic tone but I'll play with eq and see.
