I need some help trying to make TS cables using the Canare Star Quad Microphone cable. Should I Dop the (-) by cutting it off on each end or solder it onto the Sheild? Please Help!!

There's really no need for quad cable anyway
Solder two ends to each lead.

I got the Cable for free from my Brother, so i figured i would go ahead and use that instead of buying new cable. There is more than just four wires it also has the Sheild(ground) 2(blue)+ 2(white)-

yeah, use the shield just as a wire shield for the cable itself. Tie two blue to one lead and two white to the other. If one of the leads loses it's contact with the wire you'll still have the other one as a backup.

What are you talking about?

it's a four conductor cable right? with a shield around the four wires. He's wanting to use it on a TS connector. You solder two wires to the Tip and two to the Sheild. The only wire that's left is the metal (woven I'm guessing) shield that's wrapping around the entire cable...helping to prevent EMI and RFI from entering the cable. And since you have two connectors on each lead, you have a backup if one of the solder points become weak on one of the wires.

On a typical two conductor microphone cable you have two leads and a shield. The shield you tie to the ground of the connector and use the other two wires for the rest of the leads. If you were soldering to a TS connector...you'd tie one of the remaining wires to the Tip and the other one tie it to the sleeve as well. If it was a TRS connector...you'd solder one to the Tip and the other to the Ring.
But he's using a quad cable....so something needs to be done with the extra wires. You can just not solder two of them, but I hate doing that a) you've paid for the extra wires, might as well use them as a backup, and b) if somehome some way one of the wires touch a contact point it turns it into a long antenna picking up RFI.
