I couldn't agree more Cat-of-Cool-ness !! One can really sacrifice quality, dependability & performance purchasing gear from a Company that is more concerned with it's product's appearance rather than focusing on constructing a well-built, solidly-performing unit that AT LEAST, affords the user the semblance of an adequate perf.! Behringer sucks in the un-informed
by offering cosmetically appealing gear at a ridiculously low price (BEEN THERE, DONE THAT; AIN'T NEVER,EVER GOIN' BACK!!) with no sense of product reliability! Buying any particular Beh unit is a hit or miss (mostly a miss) where 1 can only HOPE in the immediate future that their Beh purchase won't fall in the category of "operational failure".

The Truths have been panned by Bill Park (Pro-Rec), Ni Rodgers (Chic) and Big Lou Costa (Big Apple/Electric Lady). Lower freqy's 70hz & below are discernibly pronounced with mids hyped by approx the 2-3 db rendering them inadeqaute for flat response referencing but more than suitable jamming with your home stereo system!

Just 'cause something's cheap doesn't mean it's good!

Just my .000000000000001 cents worth.
Peace

IMHO anyone who buys monitors at the price of the Berry's Wharfies etc. and expects real quality is "pissing in the wind". The compromises in the Berries are no more or less than in any of the cheaper products.

With monitors, probably more than with any other piece of audio gear you get what you pay for.

Thanks to all who helped me resolve this issue. It is resolved, and has been for a few days now. Anything else that has been added to this thread since then is chest-pumping at best, and at worst, just "pissing in the wind". It doesn't sound like anyone's trying to help now.

I knew what I was buying when I bought the Truths, and I am satisfied with them. Hell, I fried my tweeter, it wasn't Behringer's fault. I'm sure I have a lot to learn, and I'll learn eventually, maybe even from my own mistakes sometimes, but certainly not from condescending posts by faceless knowitalls.

You have taken my comment of "pissing in the wind" out of context. I have no problems at all with the Behringer Truths to my ears they are as good as anything in this price region. I find the build quality to be a lot better than the competition again at this price.

Did you get the truth repaired?

so what was the fix?
your original post said you had 2 options.

1) send out for repair $95repair + $55tweeter or 2)buy a new pair $329?

you asked for advice and any other diagnosis. you went thru 2qty tweeters already.... i missed the part you think it was your own fault.

good luck.... sounds like you know what to do to prevent it from happening again.

Sorry about that - bad hair day

Wilkee, Coolcat, I apologize for interpreting your comments not as they were intended and taking issue with them on this board.

I do see a lot of chest-thumping and condescending attitudes on this list, but honestly, not any more than on other lists. I guess if people spend as much time on these lists as their "No. of Posts" would indicate, then they have earned the right to be big fish in a little pond. Pretty normal on just about every online community I've been involved with.

If Wilkee and Coolcat fit that stereotype, they would not have responded so calmly to my little outburst. It's no excuse, but an explanation, that I was having a rotten day, and the words "stupid crap thread" and "pissing in the wind" kind of irked me.

My apologies again, and thanks for everyone's help.

On thing I can assure you about in any of my posts is that when I give an opinion on a product it is based on either the fact that I own the product, as indeed I have a pair of Truths (connected to an AV system) or I have a friend or colleague that has the equipment.
I see way too much regurgitated rubbish, rumour. hearsay and plain bias on this forum to want to add any myself.

Peace

Tony
