I have just got that working. Son and I have found it a bit of a pain to have to keep turning down monitors when running any open mics so I built this relay box.
The problem with all such extra boxes is power but I found some mini' relays (0.1 'Vero' pitch) with 5V coils. They are DPDT and so two of them switch two balanced lines. They draw a total of about 150mA so probably need a USB port to themselves but then USB power is everywhere these days! On power strips etc.
Could also form part of the speaker interlock you need twixt a control room and studio TB system.
If anyone is interested in making one I can draw up the schematic and give further details.
Meant to say...PLEASE don't examine the soldering too closely! Soldering now with one eye is hard enough to get electrically sound. PRETTY I can no longer do!
