a hack
I have an alesis io|26 which has the trs insert point, and want to get an FMR RNC. http://www.fmraudio.com/panelviewspage.htm

Thing is, I'm pretty sure the ring on my alesis is the output (I get a signal with one click down on a ts cable). And it looks like the ring is the output on the RNC as well. Will i have to switch the ring and tip to make this connection work? Or do I have it wrong?

Thanks!

As far as I know, you should be able to connect the RNC (as an insert) with a single TRS cable. Or you can use a Y connector with a single TRS that splits to two TS connectors.

I doubt the ring on the Alesis is the send, it's just the way insert jacks are normalled. If you fully insert the cable, you shouldn't have a send signal on ring.
