I record on my alesis hd 24,24 bit recorder 48k. I edit bounce 2 tracks stereo mix.I then sent it intro sound forge. When I go to tools to burn cd, it is all screwed up. It will play fast and when I check out what I thought is a nurned CD, I get nothing. It is like the cd is not finalized. Now I think it may be something with the fact that Cd's are 16 bit 44.1?? I have changed format when in sound forge to 16,44.1 and astill when I try to burn a cd a message comes up about sample rate or something. What am I doing wrong???

Burning audio to a cd is a two step process in sound forge. You have to add the audio and then go back to the burn cd dialog box and close the cd so it can be played. Could this be part of your problem?

dont think so?

I make a stereo mix on another track in sonar, then I move it into soundforge and do what ever stuff I want to the mix, I then go up to the tools menu, click on burn CD. The close CD "tab" is never with an option for me to click. It is always shaded., The problem seems to be with the sample rate I record in 48k,it says something about that being an issue. Cant remember EXACTLY WHAT IT SAID..damn caps. Does this make sense???

I got it

Well, I seem to have gotten it! I went up to process menu I think it was and changed the sample and bit rate from 48,24 bit to 44.1 and 16 and all is well. The stuff was orig. recorded at 48,24 bit. I guess Im all set. Thanks,Jim

still problems

when I play the CD on my car CD player it is slow!! Whats up?

You still need to change your sample rate....

I would mixdown to two track in Sonar, then export the "Sonar 2-track WAV. file" to Sound Forge.

Once the "Sonar 2-track WAV." is in SF, I would highlight the "Sonar 2-track WAV." AND copy the "Sonar 2-track WAV." into a "New WAV. file" flie (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-N, Enter, Ctrl-V).

I would close the "Sonar 2-track WAV. file", then I'd convert the "New WAV. file" to 44.1/16 (Process>Bit Depth Converter>16 bit, THEN I would [Process>Resample>44.1]).

The "New WAV." file would be the one that I would burn to CD.

Peace...

Post Script: Now that I am looking back at your post. you probably didn't Process>Resample>44.1 the WAV. file

;)
