for Dance/Rap/Some Oechestral music: Triton...
For generic and wide veriaty: Trinity (ot Trinity V3)
I had a Trinity, than I added Triton, when I compared the sounds that had same names in Triton and Trinity, Trinity was much better that Triton,
that famous 90's Piano in trinity.. in Triton the 90s Piano sounds like Yammie PSR...
so i emidiatly sampled most of Trinitys sounds, when my Triton arrived,
I know many people going back to Trinity for sounds...
Triton doesn't even have Mandolin Tremolo like Trinity.

I depends what kind of music you make,
One disadvantage that trinity has is Slow CPU...

I KORG would make new Trinity in the future with old Trinity's sounds, I'm gonna sell my Triton right at that instant..

.BUT, if youre planning on programming drums, the triton is not the way to go. Folks will argue this til theyre blue in the face, but the Triton's sequencer is not conducive to easy, fast, and most of all accurate drums. Ive found the meter to fluctuate (not noticable when using instruments, but definitely noticable when using drums), and the sequencer isnt set up to have the convenient workflow of a good software program (piano roll, etc.). 2 cents from a triton studio owner of 4 years.

I went thru many Synths (Korg,Roland,Yamaha..), and i'm using Software too, like Sonar 6, FL 6, Cubasis, reason 3, and more...
But I still prefer Triton, and especialy for the stuff you listed that Triton is not good at.
The only keyboard that you will record your tracks/ideas faster than at Triton is Ensoniq

Soaftware is good if you're doing viruoso editing of all kinds of parameters... But to get tracks quickly into sequencer Trinity/Triton are very Good, all thanks to That Compare button, and RPPR, patterns, track loop, modify velocity..ec..

Ild be interested in hearing how you control velocity on the triton. ...and im not trying to be a smartass here. There really are no fast 'feel' oriented controls conducive to drum programming on the triton. Thats a general statement, but after using ..for example the sequencer in cubase, the 'feel' controls im speaking of become clear. Thats not really my major gripe though. Ive found the internal metronome of the triton is not tight enough for drums. Ive recorded clicks and compared them to the metronomes in both cubase, and an akai dps24 ....and in "both" the click is consistently off in the same places. This could be argued if it was compared to only one other source, but when 2 different sources show the problem in the same places, ....well, in my mind, there is a problem with that tools timing. Again, its not so off that its a problem with instruments being sequenced, but with drums, i believe it is.
....just my two cents, Its a great machine. ...just not my choice for drums.

Kurzweil K2600... if we had to stay within the Korg family, I'd have to say the KARMA.

i love the sounds of both the trinity and triton....but i cannot stand the drum mapping on niether one...why is it they didnt use standard midi drum mapping?

Just sift one octave up.

also, Triton has GM sounds and GM Drums wich are completly GM standard (G bank). Trinity doesn't have GM, but you can load GM sounds with floppy, but will overwrite all trinity sounds.
