I ordered a set of BX8's on sale from Zzounds last week. When I hooked them up I found one of the tweeters had a slight buzzing in it. The speakers, outside of that, sound pretty good. They have a different definition from the Yorkvilles I use every day. They seem a bit scooped at 500hz or so and boosted at 1000. Just a little different low-mid feel than what I'm used to. I like having a couple sets to go back and forth on.

I wish these weren't broken, I'd keep them and use them. They're a good compliment to the Yorkvilles. But it was the last set they had so I can't get a replacement. But Zzounds was really cool about the return, sending me a prepaid UPS label. So I give props to them for that for sure. They've been great.

I'll probably try some KRK's next. I used to use a set of V8's in a studio and I really liked the sound of them.

I bought a set of BX-8's a couple of months ago.
Zero problems with mine and I'm hearing a lot more in the CDs I play through them.

Since I was moving up from stereo speakers, I'm happy with them....

sell the yorkvilles and bx-8s and get a pair of dynaudio bm5a's... my opinion... (sorry im just really excited about my pair that are coming any day now... upgrading from the wharefies)

ha ha, no way.

Ive been mixing on Yorkvilles for almost 6 years now. Ive never had a complaint about my mixes. The only reason I'm getting a second pair of monitors is for portability. I use a 1400 watt amp for the Yorkvilles and its heavy.

I'm not impressed with the Dynaudio or the wharfdales, myself, from my limited experience with them. Outside of the Yorkvilles, I regularly use Mackie 824's, Genelic 1031's, and the KRK's I mentioned from time to time. I can translate a mix on the Yorks as well as anything at any price.
