Hey guys,
So I am looking at upgrading my current configuration to be better adapted to my needs. Currently for a mixer I am using a TapcoFX with 4 XLR inputs, which will not be sufficient when I am looking at rigging an 8 piece drum mic kit. It is an analog mixer that I use specifically for live sound. Alongside this mixer I have a ZOOM recorder interface with 8 XLR inputs, an upgrade from the Tapco in this department, but it is a recorder/interface, not a mixer.
The piece of technology I am looking at to replace both of these, would be the Behringer Xenyx X2442. I believe I could utilize this mixer as I did the Tapco, with 10 XLR inputs over 4, and as well the X2442 is USB so I could use it as an interface as well.
The question I am looking to have answered, is whether or not this mixer will hold up as a live sound analog device for use at one location with the PA system, as well equally when at a buddy's house using 24 tracks for recording via the USB interface mode of the mixer as well.
We are on a tight budget and aim to acquire the broadest range of productivity with minimal equipment. Recording USB via interface is a strength of mine, and having the ability to actually mix via the Mixer and not digitally thereafter would be a major plus that I could see being realistic with the Behringer.
Any comments, questions, and feed back would be appreciated. This idea is simply from my own experience (at 19) and if anyone would like to know more details to better assist me in achieving my goals, I would be more than willing to disclose all that you need to know.
Thanks in advance,
