The snare just sound a little too loud in the intro - it sits better when the vox are on.
Bass is far better definied.
Lots of meat & potatoes in the guitars.
Good vocals.
Nice work.

Nice tune, hats off to your voice!! The guitars could be a tad bit punchier and the drums sound like some out-of-the-box death metal preset, over-compressed, too many high frequencies on the snare. Digging your voice man!

I've read all of your comments on the snare. I will admit that it sounded bad. I was really intimidated about taking on that task. But I believe I have fixed it. I completely revamped the drums to make it all fit together. I haven't had a chance to upload it to SoundCloud yet but i have the .wav for you.

Here is the .wav.

Thank you all for the feedback! I appreciate it so much! I think this is it... Finally.

MUCH better man! Still, not loving the snare, but now it is not taking away from the rest of the tune. Which I think is very f**king good. There is a level of sterility with the drums all together. A bit too 'clicky' for my taste, but that is just my personal opinion.

I now hear this as someones concept, not a mix that has issues. Well, I wouldn't call it done myself, but again....blah blah...

:D

Actually, do a little test for me man. Play your mix on computer speakers, or any source at a really low volume. Just enough to hear the mix without the low end coming in. What stands out as in front and overbearing? The thin sound of the 'snares' is on top of, and masking the presence of the vocals and everything else in the mix. Way on top. It is just way sterile and IMO, taking away from what the song is about. It is not building on the tune, it is taking away from it.

Hell, the song is good enough for me to want to record live drums for it. At least, just let me send you some decent snare samples......

Last time I am going to offer. If you fine with what you have, then go with that. It just isn't right yet to my ears.

I'm just gonna go away now....

Thank you for your support! I appreciate it. And I think my problem may be the speakers I mix with. I have been using my Klipsch desktop computer speakers. I haven't splurged enough to get decent monitors. But, taxes are coming. Maybe I'll finally get some good ones.

You can send me some samples. I'll try to use them. I don't know how easy it is to load them into Addictive Drums but I'll give it a shot. Either PM me or email me. Stat1stick@gmail.com

You don't load them in. I would need the raw (no effects) snare track isolated. The whole song.

Sending PM.

A HUGE thank you to Jimmys69! I love the kick and snare sounds! I made a new mix with your samples. I really like it. The kick may a bit too loud because I was a bit over-zealous with it in the mix.

Here is the .WAV file.

Thanks again, Jimmy!

I don't know, I think it fits quite well where it is at. :)

You now see what I mean about having the kick and snare hold up without being in front of the vocals? Now they are starting to allow each other to have their space.

Sounds great man! :)

Actually, on further listen, the kick might me slightly overboard. BUT, it seems you can pull up a bit more subs with the bass guitar now to fill up that lower end. Just a touch more of the bass 50-60hz, and a slight less on the kick around 3k.

You have done a great job with the guitar tone and bass guitar, without getting muddy. Also, I am a big fan of the vocals. Now that I can hear them in context, I hear what you had in your head. Sounds really f**king good man!

I want to say thank you all for listening and giving feedback. I don't know how it happened but I think this one is the best sounding recording I've ever made. A HUGE thank you goes out to Jimmys69 for the drum samples. I took down all of the older mixes because they don't really represent what the song is supposed to sound like. Instead, I've kept only the 2 mixes with the new drum samples. So, I'm leaving you with the last 2 mixes I made of this song; oldest to newest. I know you're probably getting tired of hearing this song but here it is anyway. I still can't believe I was able to make it sound so good. Thanks again.

And here is the .wav if you are interested. I highly recommend you listen to this one.

Sounds great ! Sounds BIG, very pro sounding. Everything is working in this tune. Great vocals. I wouldn't change anything.
