I produce trance. I have some question.

1. How do you make fast and energic drum patterns? What sounds do you use? How many hihats do you have? etc,etc.

2. How do you make phat and punchy drum kicks? How much EQ and Compressor do you use?

That's right. I think that gives the best punch I have heard in my software compressor.

For punch, you want to allow the initial transient to pass through for power, and then clamp the body of the sound. That way it sounds punchy.

a relatively slow attack is needed to get this. I usually use between 11ms to 25 ms, but I have seen that 17 ms is plenty punchy.
