Listening to Bach's "Goldberg Variations" played by the likes of Glenn Gould puts me in a "trance" any day of the week.
Hixmix,
I agree. I love the Goldberg variations.
DJ Pete,
Thank you for your frank presentation and ardent defense of
Trance. It has been more than a while. For me Trance is a very
unique form of music- it enables one to "trance" out if you will
but for me it opens into an action focus like dance, or for my
purposes, exercise. It may seem "boring" to others because
of its solidity of rhythm but not to me. When I dance or work
out to Trance I'm solidly focused on the pace of the dance or
workout, and if you're with someone that you share physical
connection and enjoyment with, it can be sexually exciting too.
Because it is easy to body focus in it, it is very danceable. And
you don't have to be a Fred Astaire... just find your points of
movement and let the rhythm drive you.
Being in love with music means that while you may not prefer
some of its many faces, you still can look upon them with a
smile and feel a smile back. I prefer to judge not- because I do
not sincerely know whether I will like something or not until I have experienced it. I have not yet experienced all of the person I find myself to be. I only hope I make it to a good ripe age to
where I can say that I do...is 3500 years old and still running too
old for an Earthie?
Thank you once again. And, if you do have the opportunity-
check out Bach's "Goldberg Variations".
Peace and joy abounding to you and yours!
