Since my Supersonic eats the deville alive I won't be needing it anymore....

Crazy?

I've had a couple of 12 strings over the years. They've always come across as sort of one trick pony for my style of playing. But that's just me. But also, if you've never owned a 12 string before then you should go ahead and get it so you at least can live with it for awhile!

Other than that, the Seagull is always going to be a good choice. Does it have electronics on it?

I have the SJ6 and put K&K Pure Westerns for electronics and a Baggs preamp/DI for live use. Sounds extremely nice.

As long as you've got a Supersonic, you don't need to sweat parting with the other amp. I don't have one, but a buddy I play with does--and it's a gem! I do have a Seagull--an Artist Mosaic with a cedar top. It's my desert island piece of gear. And I'm a pretty hard core electric guitarist. I just love it.

Strange coincidence--just today at lunch I went to Banjo Mart to get an A/B/Y box, and I just had to browse (it's a rule). Only two items made me grab my wallet and bite my lip--one of 'em was a Seagull 12.

I assume you've played it (or will get to)? As nice as they all are, I found the normal variations when shopping for my Artist. I ended up taking one that was "last years model" because it played better than any other. It was a bit scratched from being played by shoppers for a year, and the electronics were an older version--but I haven't plugged it in once. It's for recording.

Anyway--sorry for the ramble. Enjoy! :D

Oh I'm having great fun with this guitar. New strings, good action, very little buzz, intonation is pretty good. Tuning is a bitch, especially with new strings.

I've got a nice guild steel string which is pretty dark in comparison. This is the acoustic flavor I couldn't get.

those Seagull 12s are super sexy sounding, and easy to play. i remember playing one for a good 30 minutes at Skips in Sacramento back when i used to play a lot of guitar haha, i had no money though.
