ooo looks like its gonna be good, tracktition 1 is :D

Funny how the price keeps creeping up. By the time they get Tracktion 3 it will cost as much as Cubase and the others. Didn't start out at $40.00 or something?

How about mix automation does it have that?

It was $80 I think. I think the new one has way better mixing features.. not sure. Anyways.. its has an impressive amount of plugins included.
I'm most certainly gonna put $200 aside for T2!

Yeah, but is it as good as Power Tracks? I've been a computer guy for eons, and this is the way to go. :D

Don't start with the Powertracks crap. We finally got rid of Manning1. Or at least to stop talking about it.

dawg. a couple of points to refute you.
there are loads of postive independent user reviews, and magazine reviews of powertracks that talk glowingly about powertracks on the pg site. all the things ive been saying ,and much more including ease of use and rock solid year in year out stability.
any potential purchaser only need read the user forums from users as well, who also have used other packages that you and others on here use.
also at music123.com the product has a 5 star (the top user feedback rating
for value for money). read them at your leisure.
given these facts ....its pretty obvious to myself and other powertracks users that the only people who would post a comment like you have about "crap" are people who take the stance i dont use it therefore it must be "crap". this is not an OBJECTIVE approach.
you obviously use another product.
its like me saying "oh - that microphone must be crap, because i dont use it".
Let me add. when one talks about a product negatively, one should be prepared to back the comments up with hard TECHNICAL REASONS. i have never seen anyone including yourself put up hard TECHNICAL REASONS against powertracks.
whatever you say , the word will continue to percolate around the world via user word of mouth about powertracks, and people will continue to discover it, and realise i speak the truth.
which will bring into question the credibilty of naysayers comments.
Everyday on the user forums are highly positive posts from newbies
who have just discovered the product , as well as seasoned (often jaundiced) users.

by the way - ive been busy in my studio....

anytime you or anyone else is willing to tell me at a TECHNICAL LEVEL
why i and god knows how many other users shouldnt use powertracks.
I will be happy to hear your TECHNICAL arguments.
but i'm sure i'll never hear THAT....only the same old "its crap because i dont use it" !!

Stop hijacking threads you moron. This is about TRACTION.

No one cares about your Powertracks recommendations anymore, and certainly no one is interested in debating you on its merits. In fact, most people here are laughing at your twisted persistence in pimping this inferior tool. It's as if you suffer from some mental illness......

Geez.

I know that Manning really likes the MIDI functionality of PowerTracks. Since I know nothing about MIDI, well, I think the 'M' stands for 'machine'... not too sure, I would love to see how this marketing blurb stands up...

ENHANCED MIDI EDITOR
Tracktion 2 features a fully revamped MIDI editor with faster note entry, quicker controller and velocity editing, more intuitive keyboard control, and improved viewing of notes and controllers simultaneously. You can color code individual notes and even draw MIDI controller parameters with the new line tool. These enhancements (along with others too numerous to mention here) add up to much more powerful MIDI functionality.

EXTERNAL SYNC
In addition to Tracktion's ReWire host functionality for hooking to things like Reason, T2 now offers more synchronization support, including MIDI Time Code (MTC) input/output and MIDI Clock output for working with hard disk recorders, keyboard workstations, groove boxes, etc. Tracktion 2 can also send and receive MIDI Machine Control (MMC) commands, opening the door to external transport control and integration with modular digital multi-track and hard disk recorders.

MIDI CONTROLLER MAPPING
T2 makes integrating any MIDI controller a breeze. Just enter the MIDI Mapper, pick a filter parameter, and move the controller... done. The controller and parameter are now linked, and this pairing is stored in the session file for next time.

MIDI STEP RECORDING
Piano playing skills not quite up to Carnegie Hall standards? Tracktion 2 offers a step recording mode, allowing you to enter MIDI notes correctly and at your own pace. This powerful new feature lets you sequence even the most complicated passages with confidence and ease.

Play nice kids.
