track playback problem

Recently I upgraded to vst 5.0 on my mac g3 and now I am having problems with track playback. After I record a track, no matter how short, it will playback once and then no more. I think the problem might be with the computer but maybe someone has had a similar experience.

Do you mean it won't loop? Or do you mean when you take it back to the top, it won't play the second time?

doesn't have to do with looping. Basically all sound output disappears if I rewind and play (including the thru when the track is enabled but not recorded. This happens after recording on one track (doesn't matter how long or short) and then double clicking stop, or just rewinding, and then playing again. What's weird is that if I restart the program and enable the track I can use all the send-effects etc for hours without the audio giving out. Odd, definitely, fixable, hope you or someone else knows.
