I am going to finally get to downloading tracks to my PC from the MR-8 and have n-track. Someone was saying in an earlier thread about how you have to name the wav files and I can't remember or find how and why they said to do this.

Gospel,
MRX was the pioneer of that thread, unless I'm mistaken. I haven't seen or heard from him in a couple of days. Maybe you could e-mail him.

Hey DAD!

It's CER

I find that my most powerful tool so far has been the effect and eq...I have burned my very first mastered cd (one song) with a nice effect/eq setting. I also burned a seperate cd without the effect/eq and the difference is just crazy! I used a preset in the effect setting for "female vocal" which set the high gain to about 3-4db's giving it a nice pa/post reflection.
I am so glad I don't have to use my computer for all of these post recording effects...I'd be pulling my hair out by now. Anyway, I hope to get at least ten songs on a CD to submit to copyright this weekend!!! Wish me luck.

Well lo and behold, it's my long lost daughter. Hey, you sent that e-mail just to trip me up! I just responded tellin you to get on here! BTW....you're on the wrong thread. When exactly were you going to tell the old man about the cd?

luv ya baby,
bd (dad)

They should appear as track01.wav etc. Just right click on the track and highlight "rename" so that you can keep track of what is what.

Yeah,
She just got a VF-80 and I've been after her to get in here. Sometimes your kids actually listen.....cough.....cough.

HaHa

Very funny! Actually, I haven't had much time to scratch much less have enough strength to play at the end of the day. Missed a couple of your e-mails. Working 11 days straight will do that to ya!!! But, I know Dad has payed his dues and can relate to that!!!
Let me know what you are doing on Sunday.
Love ya

I was reading the manual and it says "Note that, if you export a WAV file which is located in a folder other than the '2 mix' folder, the MR-8 may malfunction"

Is this wrong and it doesn't malfunction or is there something special you have to do?

I think that's why somewhere in another thread, mrx sorta gave a rundown on naming the file in a certain way so that mr8 recognizes it. It may take me a while, but I'll find the thread. I need to look it over too. Also, I think the new upgrade may address that issue as well.

Gospel,
Just a couple of days ago, this forum was 8 pages long. I just went to find that thread and it's gone! I think it would be a lot less time consuming to just ask mrx.
