tough mixing

Really compress the vocal to match, EQ the beat to leave space for the vocal, add verb for the vocals to match the beat.
 
You read my mind Seafroggys. That's exactly what I would have posted.

The only thing I can add is to not be afraid to actually mix...word by word or even syllable by syllable if necessary. Compression can only get you so far and the ability of understand every word is key on the music style I believe SAMTheGreat does.
 
give us an example of what your trying to mix. So you want the track sound like eminem. ok. but what are you struggling with.
 
Not like eminem , the beat is super duper compressed to the the point things sound sidchained. And ill will put a link in here
 
The answer stays the same. Use EQ to "cut a hole" in the backing track for your voice, then compress the hell out of your voice to match the track.

And then mix it bit by bit.

...or, if you're buying the tracks anyhow, just don't buy the ones you don't like the sound of.
