...Very rarely does one see the word 'producer' (here)...
Ask Rami if the Flems, the Mummies and the Sphinx recorded there at Pyramid studios ! I'm sure I read somewhere that they pioneered camel track recording and that it got too cold to record there in down time. Wasn't Tut known as "King of all top notch engineers" ?![]()

Oh, sure you do- right now, four on the first page of posts in the "DJ & Hip Hop Production" forum. Every rapper AND his cousin calls himself a "producer." Of course, all they "produce" is farts and "beats" they then post on Craigslist, but at least they call themselves producers...
Chuck Ainlay, Frank Filipetti, Mutt Lange, and Ed Cherney are missing from that list.
You guys forgot a group that MUST have recorded there- they back up Bobby "Boris" Pickett (RIP) in this classic song...

True stevieb ....the *crypt kicker 5* was the pyramid studios studio session musicians right up to Tutankhamuns death, but that particular song was engineered by Ramesses using old blues players from Memphis and Cairo through the *Cleopatra talent agency*. That was eventually over taken by the huge cooperation know as *the Rome empire records*
Just a little music history lesson for ya.
cool

Now wait a minute.... King Tut had a great home pyramid studio that was the envy of all the ancient world!
I have no doubt that Tuts studio put out quality recordings which would put him on the top notch engineer list.

I can just see people skimming through the liner notes of their CD/LP collections....looking for names.![]()

No need to. I know my favorites.
Mutt Lange being one of them. Not for AC/DC, Def Leppard, or Shania Twain, but for the Cars' Heartbeat City. That album just never gets old.
Another often overlooked great is Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. I can't count how many times I bought Heaven or Las Vegas due to loss or wearing out before the iPod came along. I will be listening to old Twins records for the rest of my life.

Jim
