Took a chance on a piece of Behringer gear, check it out...

I bought the 4700 recently.
After using it on several sessions I give it a OK.
Not the best, but strong enough. The EQ works amazingly well. An added plus.
I keep hearing there is an 8 channel version out but can't find anyone who sells them. Not much more expensive either.
 
the 8-channel is the HA8000, IIRC. the big difference with that one is that there aren't aux inputs on the channels. that would make me want a 2nd 4700 if i needed it.

and like i said, i agree.....it's "ok". if i wasn't running it off the board's headphone out, i'd have a bit of a beef with it b/c it'd be pretty under-powered. but the extra pre-gain that the headphone out gives it is what makes it usable.

and yeah, i was surprised by the usability of the eq as well.

Keep in mind we are talking the NEW 4700 and not the 4400. the new one has more juice.
I have since used it on 3 sessions, and if Iget MORE than adequate volume when Iget the input in the yellow and each channel set at about 10 or 11'o clock.... 12 o clock will bow your head off.
This thing works and works well I have NO compaints about it. Very very very good buy for $100. I do recommend it.
The EQ is ok, helps to get more cut when they cant hear or if you have cheap flat sounding headphones, or phones that dont handle bass you can cut a little.
The 8000 amps are not as good.
 
I'm running it from the monitor out on the Soundcrat M8 and I only have the input on the 4700 turned up to about 10 o clock, and I am getting more than enough juice to hurt a man. No use wasting a headphone out on the board to run to the 4700. Are you using the front input?

like a best buy for a cheap amp... as long as it works.

Just received my ha-4700 headphone amp. Wow, plenty powerful
(I can't push the master past 5, nor a channel past 3, without ear damage), and some nice EQ adjustment to tweak some old phones. I can't ask for more for $100.
