Ha, ha, yeah....cute version!:D
Those drums are surely only guide tracks, no? I'm sure it'll sound a lot better with proper drums.

The drums really don't get too much more complicated than that. If you listen to the original version you'll see what I mean. The only thing I can do is try to make them sound better. I'm kind of fucked and limited in the drums department. My only hope is to make try to make them sound passable.

your gonna fuck up your throat!

Yeah I get what Joeys saying about the drums...what are you using for them?

the only suggestion Id have is if your keeping them simple make the outrageously loud...BOOM BOOM TISH...make them huge, load of reverb..might work better <shrug>

apart from that Id use this to threaten my children if i had any that is :)

You have to do a lot of vocal exercises and get your throat use to making those sounds. It hurts at first but after a few weeks of training your throat gets use to it. As long as you don't push it till you strain your voice it's all good.

I'm using the drum kit from hell. I figured out how to send it to separate channels today and I'm experimenting with adding some effects to the channels to pump it up. Seeing how I'm working on several songs, hopefully by the time I'm close to wrapping them up I'll be able to get a decent sound from them damn drums...

yeah channel them out then get stuck into them

I have superior and its damned hard to get toontrack samples to fill a soundscape for some reason, on a recent guitar track ive done i had to layer the kick with a club kick sample to get it to boom...theyre great samples but somehow the dont fill the space like others, If id known to begin with Id probably gone with bfd2

What I like the most about it is you can find what ever beat you can think up and drag and drop it very simple, quick and easy. I got the libraries of the extreme midi drum pack too for blast beats and heavy stuff.

It's the extra shit that fucks up the sound. Like the "room" and "compressed mix" that can really throw the whole thing off. I'm going to try sending them to different buses with custom reverb settings to fill it out a tiny bit, but mostly going to pump it up and make the kick like thunder and the snare pop and ring out.

Maybe I'll find a way to make it work...

Edit:

And I only use a tiny bit of delay on the vocals. The harmonized parts come from just growling in different octaves lol

Yeah those drums are terrible. Particularly the snare. They'd fit right in some lite adult pop song, but not this.

The guitars are kind of muddy, but just barely.

The vocals are lol hilarious.

Yeah not even the most serious death metal band would cover a tom petty song :laughings:

LOVE IT.....better then the original(not a big Petty fan)can feel the emotion in those guitar leads...YES!!!! How about some Supertramp?

id suggest Crazy Horses by the Osmonds...thats begging to be covered

Eventually I'm going to do Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes. It's going to be like hundreds of 10 - 30 second songs. I'll re-write the rhymes to be about childishly gross and bscene topics.
