Usually when I program drums in Acid I start with samples of single hits (snare, kick, hihat...) I'm assuming that RADS is a loop library??? If it does have some one-shots this is what I would do... (BTW you'll be zooming in and out a lot.) Start with a hi-hat playing sixteenth notes, this will act as your metronome. Then place your kicks and snares...
Now, this will probably be TOO perfect so there are certain things you can do to shuffle it around a little. One thing you can do is disable "snap-to ruler marks"; then zoom in close and move the drum hits just a hair to the left or right. Don't do this to every hit though, be tasteful. Another thing to do is take a snare or hihat into Sound Forge (or another editing program) and pitch it up a few cents (NOT semitones.) Save it as a new file (you'd have something like Snare1 and Snare2 or Hihat1 and Hihat2) and bring it back into Acid. Put this in place of one or two of the already programmed snare (or hihat) hits, and turn the volume up just a bit more on these. When you hit a drum harder it becomes louder and higher pitched. Once you have your beat programmed save it all down to one file and take it into Sound Forge and add reverb to taste. I hope all of this makes sense...if not , ask away! BTW, what kind of music are you producing?

Thanks for replying. RADS is a loop library, but it is strictly drums. It has a number of patterns, but also one shots. I'll give your suggestions a try.
