And I suppose I should. out of respect for history, make it a Fender vs. Gibson thread.

Well.......Fender, cause their guitars aren't as nice..but their excellent legacy of amps more than makes up for it. :)

I own a Fender and a Gibson and I have to keep them in separate rooms.

:-)

Yeah, I like my PRS (even though I need to sell it). Aaron- I love my strats and teles, but as far as "nice" ya know those glued, bound les pauls have it!:) It's kind of how I really like the Shelby cobra...but it has no AC, no cruise, no windows, no radio. A Lincoln is ALOT nicer...but it's no Cobra;).

how about those wierd plastic stringed basses vs a normal non plastic stringed bass?

i havent played a gibson bass so i cant comment :D

Hmph.

It's all how you train them. MY Fender and MY Gibson are cuddled sweetly next to each other.

They play together nicely too!

I got one word for ya......Yamaha Pacifica......well its 2 words but it has one meaning......kick ass guitar.......

I'd rather get a Fender then a Gibson, but Gibson's are better for bluegrass, and are more solid.

But if I was to go for that style of a guitar, I'd just let a Gretch do the work.

Fenders are like country girls
Gibsons are like city girls

Fenders, take your breath away
Gibsons, take your breath away because they are so darn heavy

Fenders are a summer day
Gibsons are a night on the town

Fenders speak your soul
Gibsons speak your attitude

Fenders are a love of your life
Gibsons a memorable one night stand

Both are required for a full life.......

Ok well... for this discussion I shall refer to my copies as Fender and Gibson ;)

For a couple years now, I've been doing nothing but playing my Gibson, totally digging the more warm and earthly tone.

But then I started working on one of my tunes that requires a late night boogie sound which I traditionally associate with my Fender.

I gotta say, I forgot just how good my Fender sounds when it's all tubed up and ready to go to the school dance.. I definately prefer it much more on this song than the Gibson.

I like the poem middleman.

I've always kinda felt like a LP sort of came with all the licks "built in". And you gotta work for everything you get out of a strat.

But it's worth it.
