Any comments on how yall pan your ish? Do you go for that live type feelin pan, or do it differently? I never get a nice mix from conformity of the norm(ie vocals slightly right, drums stereo, bass a lil to the lef, etccccccc.)Tell us how you personally do it.( I try never to stick to one process)

I'm not really a panning guy... My panning is like this:

Drums: Dead center (I only pan the cymbals when I have some in my beats)

Bass: ALWAYS dead center

Melody: I use samples so often the panning is already done

Percussions: Random a bit... I try and use what I like.

Peace,

My panning methods are pretty similar too Beethoven.....
I definetly pan percussion and Hi Hats.....
Raticus

my panning is a tad bizarre:

lead vocal: dead center
bass: 5% right of center
kick: 5% left of center
snare: 10% left of center
hat: 10% right of center
other percussion steadily outward

then, i start panning keys, brass, string, guitar and back vocals steadily outward.

although on some tunes, i flip the panning on the back vocals such that they are inside (closer to the center).
