Thoughts on a Mixer

Part of me is tired and frustrated. I've already spent so much money on sound gear, this band probably won't go anywhere, etc. On the other hand, it would help the band, the band would be helping me buy this gear, I hope it will be used in some form of ministry even if it isn't our band, and buying gear is just so much fun. :)

Exactly, you get some help buying gear for now, and you WILL use it.. With this band or the next one, or your church, or whatever..

You said you like the echo cuz "- Not anchored to our mixer like Mackie's Firewire interface", that's exactly why out of all 3, I like the mackie the BEST, cuz you CAN use it as a standalone mixer.. Of course I need a mixer as much as I need the fw interface, so... If you're ever doing live sound, the mixer+fw is great imo.

Urg, I just wrote for 20 minutes and my browser closed from an error. I don't feel I have the energy to readdress all those things now.

As for the Electro-Voice RE20, I looked at it and it looks great. But I was already stretching the budget for the R0de NT1-A. Maybe I should just get one SM57 until I can afford this? Or maybe you could recommend a different mic costing up to $200? It would have to be good at a number of things, but vocals are priority at this point.

Thanks! :)

eBay. Buy used to get something decent in that price range.
