Thanks fellas. I took my time and burned instrument mixes to cd as I went. This way I could check the raw recordings on regular systems before going too far. Another thing I did differently is the vocals...I was very careful about monitoring levels in the phones while I tracked them. Not cranking the volume in the cans seems to have helped my pitch and consistancy. There's no EQ on the vocals, there is some chorus on the stereo vox to widen it up for dramatic effect.
The intro is a little digital micro recorder with the initial idea for the song. I stuck a MC012 in front of it's little speaker on my lap and hit record. The electric guitars (heavy) are a Les Paul and a Paul Reed Smith playing the part in unison 4 times- Marshall head, Fender cab, Sm57.
If you learn from every recording you do, it just gets more and more fun doesn't it?
Sam- I'm usually afraid my songs are
too serious. I'm really a pretty easy going guy, but when it comes to music, I grew up with some pretty serious shit. And if I write, it's usually something upsetting me that motivates it. Thanks as always brothah!
WATYF- Hope this didn't piss you off too much.

Congrats on the 1KSilver membership. There's no going back for ya now. You can never leave.
Meshuggah- Thanks for the listen bro. Glad you liked the vocals! I find singing to be a mountain of challenges.
Myx62- That's a funny pic! I forgot to put an advisory in my post too. I say the fuck word in the song. I feel so guilty and misguided.
chrisharris- Chris I got 2 whole pics in the Cave for ya

That shower studio pic is fucking hilarious!!!!
Axe4Yahweh- Cheers!
mixmkr- and I'll be right behind you two...
crawdad- Too funny! I believe one will find flyfishing more useful to the musical art than the spelling of the handle. When one's inner voice shuts the hell up, one begins to hear the sweet sounds of the stream and the nature around it filling God's great stereo field with pin-point accuracy. That's right...instead of buying that Great River pre, just head straight to the Great River
JR#97- mmmm...mojo. Thank you.
Kramer I want to hear this mastered professionally. I've done no mastering EQ or anything to it yet, cuz I'm afraid I'll fuck it up.
Guys thanks a lot! Very encouraging words!
