to record those i did the following:

put my powerbook up to the guitar amp or my mouth and recorded using the built in mic

afterwards i edited all the stuff on garageband

this is what ive been doing for the past 2 years and it's definitely time for upgrade, but i'd like to know if i have talent for all this mixing stuff (and then id continue doing stuff by myself) or not (then ill just go to professional studios and let them do everything).

Reminds me of The Avalanches in a way. Very reverby stuff. So, you play all the parts, like the tambourine sound on I Will Never Forget, and the bass and all that? Do you record those nature sounds yourself? Of course you should keep going with it, especially if you love doing it.
 
yeah i record mostly all of it (the tambourine is an exception) one track at a time and mix it up after the fact, so i use a lot of the stuff i record sort of like samples and loops.

ill definitely continue making music, i was just wondering if i should keep recording stuff by myself
