Well, you best be hoping there aren't any of those Dugites in there with those snug bugs!!!Gorty said:The OC 703 is now sitting snug as a bug in a rug in the frames.
What is all those dark red spots on the floor...?Gorty said:This cloth is getting stapled to the frame to cover the OC 703. This is the back of the traps. You can see that my frames are only 3" deep and I have two sheets of 2" OC 703 in the frames. You can see the routered angle on the wood for the corners more clearly here. I also trimmed the edge of the OC 703 on the same 45 degree angle.
I will post more pics up when I have the front face covered.
You done went and cut your finger off, didn't ya?!!!Gorty said:That's it!! I used a Stanley Trimmer with an extendable blade so that you can cut through the OC 703 without too many passes. You will want the blade to be able to be at least as thick as the OC 703. It's easier that way!
This is a picture of the one I used. See the retractable blade.

Dumby said:Nice room Gorty, I just finally moved into my house last week. The eviction party at the apartment was great! I had a question I hope is not silly but does putting the wood trim you put halfway up the wall help with noise reduction? And the noise absorbers you have above your studio board that is the auralex stuff right? I am looking to make my new music room a little more soundproof than it is right now. Thanks
cincy_kid said:Looking good Gorty, I like the auralex idea over the front for extra absorption...
Getting rdy to head downstairs ands start on day 2 for me on the floors![]()
I know I said this before but nice monitor stands you built there ~

i know once i put up my fiberglass traps, the room sound changed pretty dramatically. now i can tap drumsticks together in the middle of the room without hearing that nasty quick echo. if i try that in my bedroom, even with the carpeted floor, it has a crazy ringy echo.
