Had lots of trouble covering the dynamics of this song with one mic - abandon my usual favourite ribbon for an SM - still a lot of automation into compression and then also the fader of the main vox bus - how did I do???

Result of automation and compression worked OK to my ears.

Is your slow slide to the pitches purposeful...habitual? It hurts the appeal of your otherwise pleasant vocal style.

It varies across songs, but is more apparent with slower material.

I think it is subjective - some people like it some people don't - I'm objective about it and can eliminate if needs be - I get habitual with particular songs.
