I can easily identify the mic as being a bluemic. I am not sure if the instruments are blue mics , but it sounds really good. Probably the best vo I've heard through my nasties.

I think they used a tube preamp though. The highs are recognizeable as blue but a bit less tinny overall than mine.

you can hear mine here:

Nobody argues that Blue mics arent incredible. Theyre just pricey. Very nice sounding vocals on the rap piece. Big, up front and larger than life. Nice tight and even low mids, nice top end.. present and open but not hyped.

What pre did you use?

I did not think that my blueberry was incredible when I got it. I thought it was quite horrible. I am getting used to the sound and the more I use it, especially with eq, the more I love it.

WOW, thanks for the nice comments on the vocal. I think I can get the quality of the BLue voiceover, but it will take painstaking placement, some eq, and maybe multiband compression.

I actually did not like that vocal when the talent recorded it. I thought the top was abrasive, but I like it now.

I used a sytek mpx4a preamp into a lucid ad9624 converter(just as important)

Anyone else notice the pumping compression effects on the guy's voice in the demo from the bluemic site? That's just wrong! Comress it fine, but for the love of god don't make it so noticable.

Yeah I was going to say something about the pumping which doesnt make any sense as its not a commercial that will be run on mainstream radio. Its just something they stream on their site. They probably sent it to some guy whose main work is jingles.

Theres something very similar about the low end in both clips. A nice balance between roundness and tightness. Im sure the sytek helped there.
