This place kills me sometimes...I can't post a thread. But I bet once this one posts, so will the other 2.

So as I was saying....

This is a song I wrote a while ago, but just got around to recording it yesterday and mixing it today. But my ears might be shot, so I'm not sure if the levels are out of wack or not....Let me know if there's anything that stands out as needing improvement...Thanx alot.

Should be the first song that plays unless the player screws up...Make sure it's SCARS

Good stuff man!!!!! You're writing is getting better and better, production values are always top of the line!

Interesting tune man....has a slightly different vibe for you. I really like it. (I'm listening on headphones, so not much of a mix critique here...)

it;s slightly slower, and a bit more sombre than some of your other tunes...very cool. A different side...I like how it flows along. The cleaner guitars are cool, and the lead part/solo..is very tasteful. It really was an integral part of the song. Very well done man...Cool tune overall...

Thanx Guys...I'm listening now and I hear some pumping on some clean guitar parts, as if I'm over-compressing. Might just be my imagination, but I'm not digging it. Are the drums loud enough??? I have no perspective any more. I'll have to listen again with fresh ears tomorrow.

I know fuck all about mixing....but its definetely an amzing tune, defo the kind id buy. Some neil young-ish guitar parts, or is that me?

Thanx alot man. I really appreciate that.

I hope not!!! Just kidding...I didn't try to do anything Neil Young-ish, but I can see how you'd hear that type of feel in the some of the parts.

Thanx laot for the comments, I really appreciate it.

Good work Rami. Everything sounds crystal clear. Drums were loud enough, I especially liked the sound of the snare.

Rami,
my computer & your web site don't like each other.
Can't even downlaod at present. I heard the 1st line of the lyric before the standalone player skipped to another track. Not that big a prob as I like all the other tracks too BUT...
OK, downloading now...nah, had to cancel as the est. time of doenload was 17mins & increasing. I think I'll come back later ... sorry - liked the intro & the verse melody anyway.

Does that happen often Ray???...You always seem to be able to listen to my tunes no problem. If it ever happens again, just close the page and see what happens when you come back on. Shouldn't happen...Sorry brother.

I'm also listening to the song through headphones but i would really like to commend your recording. i think it sounds very well done , i like the drums the most. I think i can hear what youre saying about the drums coming up a little bit .. but im the last person you should be listening to. I feel like the snare could be a little more up front. But then again , thats just me and im not sure i trust my own ears just yet. But regardless of what ive said , awesome mix , everything sounds good to me..well done. :)

Love the way the lead squalls over the intro.
Nice tempo - give the lyrics a chance to be digested as they go.
the leads remind me of Ace F. on Hotter Than Hell esp the track Going Blind.
I like the drums at their current level.
This song has a real slow burning song & the leads keep that fire going.
Good balance - nice bass tone. Drums are right in the pocket as usual.
The player was better behaved this time though every 60 sec or so this song'd stop & Ivory Tower's intro would begin & I'd have to stop & reselect Scars (happened thrice).
Flamin' heck you'll be releasing a new CD for Christmas at this rate.
Excellent work.

Nice job RAMI!
I felt a vibe of Scorpions on this one and I was a little bit surprised.
Maybe not so much in music but I felt Scorpions vocal-vibes!
Do you usually mix vocals this way?
sikter

Cool song. Drums and bass and overall arrangement... perfect. Guitar is just a little bright to me where it's backing the first vocal phrase, 4-6 kHz ish.

I don't hear any pumping in the guitars.....and I like how the drums fit in the mix....doesn't mean you couldn'tbring them up some, as you seem to have plenty of space for them, but sounding really good to me man. I'll have a few more listens when I get home, but I'm liking it man... :D

Thank you Erockrazor. I'm glad it sounds good on headphones because don't really mix it or even reference through headphones. So I'm relieved it's not too bassy or whatever headphones tend to emphasise. I was tempted to bring up the drums a little bit, but I find this type of song shouldn't featue the drums, they should just be there. Thanx for the comments!

RayC....hehe...Yeah, I'm putting them out pretty quick lately. But I go through spurts like that, so I try to take advantage of it before I easily fall into a dry-spell where I can't even come up wuth a chord to play. I don't know why my player and your computer don't like each other. Funny, I make fun of Ace Frehley alot, but you're not the first person to tell me my playing reminds you of him....hehe, that's shame :D
Thanx for the listen, brother.

Hi Sikter....I didn't really do much differently in mixing the vocals, except add along delay and more delay than usual. I guess the song might just have that 80's slow rock feel. I love the Scorpions, so that's a good thing. Thanx dude.

Thanx Tim...Yeah, I wanted to use a cleaner sound for the first verse, but it might it be a little twangy. I probably have to cut around 4k like you say. Good ears, as usual. Thanx alot. :)

Another class tune Rami. You never let me down. I think its an excellent mix. I listened on my Event Tr5's and on my emac speakers and it sounded great. Usually i can tell a good mix on the Emac speakers. It was very well balanced indeed. I got a little bit of a Europe vibe off this. Gonna let my mate listen to it, he's an expert on all things Joey Tempest et al.

Cool Gumble...Do you mean Europe the band or the country (hehe)???

I know it's a continent :D

I'm glad it sounds good on real speakers. I mix on a pair of JBL car speakers, so I always hope I guessed right. Thanx alot.
