Crawdad,to say I'm waiting for the B-series would be an understatement.Everyday I check here for any word and then I check 8th St to see if they are in and shipping.Funny thing is that while I'm 98% sure I want to get the TB-1,everyday different scenarios rub through my little head.Some of those scenarios include;a pair of B-1s for half the money,a pair of B-1s and a B-3,a pair of B-3s,a cheap ass Nady tube mic(ruled out),an Audio Technica 4033 and assorted Groove Tube mics that are being blown out.Really if I could order the TB-1 though,I would buy that sucker today.
As far as the RNMP,I kinda hope that it remains vaporware as otherwise I'll probably end up buying one!!I gotta stop the bleeding sometime(hopefully after my new mic!)but even though I don't own a RNC(I use pluggin compressors)the RNC is about the only product that I never hear anything bad about.If I were going to buy a compressor it would be a no brainer for me.I'm afraid that the RNMP will turn out to be just as good.
As far as the Studio Projects mic pre,I'm not a big fan of the toob design.I hate to prejudge anything but when I heard SP was coming out with a new pre I was dissapointed that it was another TOOB design.I could be wrong but I think I'll pass on this one.
I have a Mxl 2001p and I plan to try the mod soon as I get the cajones to give it a try.I dislike the 2001p immensely so even if I screw it up ain't no big deal.I haven't heard a V67 but I understand that it is a nice mic,I'm not sure if I'd mod one.The 2001p is so bad that I think of the mod as a neccessity.
Oh well.Think I'll check 8th ST to see if I can order my mic yet!
