Heres something from 16-bit land-Drums tracked to a tascam da-38-then transferred to cakewalk-where the other parts where added...It took me a pretty long time to get the mix to this point-and I'll be mixing this week-so let me know what you hear--I think its sounding pretty good-though i may have to ride the lead voc a bit when the wall of backrounds come in...song is called then and now-and the link:

Hey man...cool song: I like the way you sing, and I always tell you that, but since you're in the middle of mixing, I'll skip all the pleasantries and just focus on the negatives. :D :D

Guitar edit or clam @:14 seconds needs to be fixed. You could get away with it with the full mix, but it's pretty prominent when that git is all by its lonesome.

I'm sure you're gonna' catch some grief for that regimented drum part during the verses, but I personally love it.

The fade cuts off, but I know this is a rough mix. I'm just proving that I listened to the whole song. LOL.

Fucking EXCELLENT background vox...the whole end of the song just kills. I love stuff like that...and with the dual trippy leads...and the panning of the vox...very cool.

Yeah, this is already cool. Hell, if it were mine, it'd be "done."

almost always a good hook in your tunes..

I like this mix for the same reasons I like Emeric's.. It's a friendly non-abrasive sounding recording.. this sounds as it should.. nice and clean.. the drums threw me off when they first came in, but I quickly got into them.. I have no useful suggestions because it sounds great to me.. The fade out was not good, but you said it's a rough mix.. I know it's not you singing, but I like the vocals.. Is that a slide in the background or an EBow?

yeah this is a good mix and tune.. No annoying mid range frequencies that I hear soo much lately.. it's been looping a few times now..

makes me feel sorta happy,

and not many songs do that!

This is very cool!
The drums are awesome! It took me a couple bars to get used to them. At first I thought some low end needed to be rolled off - but no way! They sound great.

The acoustic guitar stands out a little too much to me. I would bring it down, pan it more towards center, add more verb - or any combination of the three.

There is an excellent electic guit rhythm part in there that could be a little louder.

The tamborine sits in there so nicely! Good touch.

The vocals might be a little buried at the 1:30-2:06 section and again when that part comes in around 3:00.

Great song! Nice work.

hehehehe... Oh yeah, and then you always tell me it's not you singing. (sorry). But TECHNICALLY, my statement is totally correct. (I ALWAYS tell you that).

*bump for humility*

yeah i agree nice vocals...i like the stuttery feel to it....hope that comes out right...lol..nice harmonies...man they are almost too low...but i like em LOUD...nice guitar sounds too...

ok im gonna listen to this a while ...ill be back..

GOOD TUNE!Snare sounds a little funny...can't quite explain it...My f*ckin ears are so shot.I'm surprised I can tell a snare drum from a p*ssy fart.Dig this tunes vibe.George Harrison who?Good job,good vox.

Heya guys-thanks for listening and the EXCELLENT ears/critiques you've given. I agree with most everything brought up-and hopefully I can post a remix in a few days (to show you I am listening).

Things I hope to fix (so far):

1) Acoustic a bit loud (fprod)--
2) Get the background vocals louder/more defined(Jamal)
3) Fix the fade (chris-Bsabb) btw that glitch in the beginning-was some kind of conversion error-I didnt even notice it first listen...
4) Drums-snare in particular(W.I.S.C.)-always need work...I recorded the drums on an 8trk-and bounced them down-to 2 tracks-so im kinda limited here......
5) Automate lead vocals-need to stay slightly above everything at all times(fprod)

Oh and thanks jagular-glad you liked it.

Anyone else?? Too much bass maybe?

sounds like a pretty great mix right now...........i might turn down the acoustic down just a touch and bring up the electric just a touch.......right now, the acoustic kind of over powers the electric, which is not a bad thing, it's just not a very familiar sound given the natural dynamics of the instruments.......your choice.....

good song........great singing.........nice work

well done, nice song and good mix too. The background slide rythum is nicelly mixed in. I asume this is your latest mix?
