The "Silophone" is the converted Number 5 grain silo in the Port of Montreal. This building, no longer used for the storage of grain, is now a "resonator", a natural echo chamber of unparalleled dimensions and
unique sonic qualities, which has been placed at the disposal of musicians from all over the world.

Anyone can log onto the Silophone website and play the silophone using any of the sounds in the soundlist, or you can play your own soundfile of any sound you might have and upload it to the list. About 40 seconds
later, your sound plays in the silo and is rebroadcast back to you in RealAudio.

I listened to the Infostream. Sounds fabulous!
It reminds me of something that was done several years ago in - I think it was Cologne here in Germany, when a giant water-reservoire was emptied for cleaning and they let a few musicians and dancers in to perform. Great sounds! the reservoir had a decay time of up to 45 (!) seconds. I think the only thing that comes close to this are whales singing...
