the paul?

hey guys

i have found a guitar for sale...its a gibson "the paul"..the set neck natural wood guitar based on the les paul. it is in real good shape and plays very good. it has dot inlays instead of the trapizoid, no binding, grover keys, open pickups. its a late 70's or early 80's model (not sure exatly what year)

i can get the guitar for 400 bucks....is that a good price?

im a fender strat player so i don't really know gibson guitars like i do fenders.....but i want a humbucker equiped guitar for my studio.

The Paul is a fantastic guitar, I have two, a (I believe) 79' and 80', those are the two years that the original The Paul was made, 400 is well worth it, but if you pass it up you will probably have another chance to buy one around that price...

I love my guitars they have incredible sustain, more like the new high line instruments, they really blow away the budget concious LP Studio, and The Paul II...

I've never owned one, but I was in a punk band for a while and the other guitar player had one. I played he's a lot and I loved it!

For $400.00, I'd grab it!

I had one I bought new in 1979. It was all solid black walnut w/satin finish, ebony fingerboard, and "Dirty Fingers" pickups. Played and sounded excellent. (I played through a 1981 Fender Pro Reverb.) Trading it in on a different guitar was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made.

Mine was around $450.00 new, so $400.00 is very fair. Grab it while you can!
