The NEYO effect... as me and my friends refer to it!? How to?

NEYO EFFECT Question

How does he do this?!!? If anyone has a neyo song and can listen to one really quick... I would love to know!

is this a full front vocal and 2-4 background vocals panned 50+? Is it just a harmony of voices that makes that

effect or what!?!? Idk why i can't figure this out....

The answer to this im sure is quite simple... It's just maybe noone has the neyo songs to listen to and hear what im talking about.. Youtube.com will work though!

i asin't looking for a link. find one and post it. my guess is its autotune. could be way off.
 
Double-tracked

It's called double tracking. He records the track once, then does another take and pans the two tracks L and R (The panning varies. Normally 70 - 100). The small timing/pitch differences give it that effect.
 
I think squibble nailed it. It sounds like double tracking to me as well, or a very wicked stereo expander.
 
Actually thats what i already do and its close to it... But not exactly what his sounds like... I didn't know if anyone knew exactly....

I do a Primary Vocal and 2 background vocals, pan them atleast 50+ L and R and add 9 cents up to one and 9 cents down to one. Its close but doesnt take the cake.
 
It could also be the professionally recorded vocals. They can get a sound that the majority of home-recorders can't get. Music producers have so many tricks.
 
i bet he uses auto tune as well.

its just his voice, auto tune (most likely), and double tracking like everyones said already.

you wont get yours to sound exactly like that cause your not neyo.

its crazy what a bit of double tracking will do though.
