PI,
Thanks mate - the artists known as Gerry, Joe & Greg REALLY picked this up & put it somewhere better. I'm impressed!
Which version did you listen to: the soundclick or download?
It is a superb thing for gumbies like me to have such folk lend their considerable talents to a project. It reveals potential for the gumby & reinforces opinion about the talents of the collaborators....and brings some surprises... such as knowing Joe has a superb metal voise but now knowing that that voice isn't restricted to or defined by that register or genre. Having Greg bring his tight crisp, precise playing to a fairly sloppy bit of playing by me & bringing it together as a result and Gerry recording an amazing track long solo to match the melody less version of the track then going back again to record something to meet the change of style & perspective post melody that has real gravitas.
For me - it's unbelievably exciting and daunting as well.

That was a big hassle to download. I hope I got the right file.

Very nice. I like the singing. It reminds me of something... perhaps Bowie? I find the guitars a tad thin and loud, and then the lead fits well but is too distant.

Now I've bothered to read the comments I see Joeym was thinking Bowie... you got that right. Well done. I think the "hippy metal" comments somehow hit the mark (70's rock/metal ballad?) ... The drums sound great but seem a bit too close compared to the rest and don't quite gel with the bass.

Really good sound and quality... it's hard to make a suggestion with any certainty of how it will sound... richer guitars might pull it together more.

Yeah now that I've been away from it for a while, I hear that my drumming is really bad. :(

Sorry Ray.

The mix seems okay to me for the most part. See if you can tighten up the snare some with some compression. It's a little flabby.
