Looks to me more like Karma got screwed by a pissing match between the two former architects of SE Electronics, one of whom left SE and formed a competing company, the other of whom didn't. Each claims that they are the brains behind SE. Who is right? Probably both of them.

Either way, Karma ends up looking bad as a result of something that probably isn't dishonesty on their part, but rather on the part of their Chinese partners.

I guess you could say that Karma's a bitch....

You could say that eh. . .

I guess the only way to find out is to buy one and test it out. No matter the politics right.

Of course, most of you know I'm an sE fan (although I now own a CAD M9  ) and personally believe that KARMA is way "out of integrity" in it's initial advertising ploy but they have been "called on their shit" and need to deal with it.
If you read all the magazine articles on the sE company it is definitely clear that Siwei Zhou was the one who started the company, couldnt get Feilio to make mics at a level of quality acceptable to him so he started his own company to ensure a higher quality mic with the Investment$$ assistance.
From my perspective, this thing should be put to rest and let the mics speak for themselves.
Let's hear some detailed descriptive commentary or even sound clips.
If they are good they are good and if they are not they are not.
Then with that info and the integrity issue, let people make their own choices.
A positive about this is that by Kidvybes getting this thing out in the open, James Young from Sonic-Distribution was able to clarify it from the sE perspective and make it clear that there is no formal nor current business connection.
Lets see how it plays out!
In the meantime, back to playing and recording music :D
Woo Woo!

I think we still need to know the truth also.

I am sure it is in the middle of both stories we should not believe one just because he is with sE and should not just believe the other cause they are karma but look in the middle. Usually there is a REAL truth in the situation.

Karma posted a reply and James has yet to call him. Why? Or respond to his comment on the reply.

I guess James of sE will decide to act or react in whatever manner he feels is appropriate because in reality that is his choice and no one elses and whether we or anyone else becomes involved with that will be his choice as well.

He stated he will be contacting Karma didn't he?
How do you know that he hasn't?

I can't believe the bullshit lengths that some idiots will go to to get their business mentioned. It certainly hasn't got them a good name and so, whilst I await Dot's reviews with interest, I won't be considering any of their products unless I'm convinced that they have stopped using cheap lies and false name-dropping to get their brand around.

I couldn't care less about sE, I had to post my warranty card to the States when I bought my SE2200, but I have to admit I'm surprised and disappointed that one of their former distribution workers would pretend to us that he was having mics built in their new facility when it was clear that that could not be the case.

Let's overlook that shall we? After all, he's just trying to provide everyone with cheaper mics, just disregard the "politics" of it all would you? If he lies to get your business at least he got it, right?

He knows what he said, and the guys on this board know what he said. It was untrue and misleading and meant to harm others for his own gain. Yet people are actively trying to help this company along with free ads on the web.

Stop making sense Noisedude, it's not cool man.

Pretty much like what I've always said regarding the search for truth about world news: take CNN and Aljazeera and split the difference.

Sorry or thanks ... I think

Well, I personally have absolutely no stake in this since I have no plans to buy either a Karma or an SE mic. That decision also has not been influenced in any way by this whole debacle. Having read some of the statements from both sides now, I have formed an opinion based solely on those statements. Personally, if I had to make a choice today on which camp to support, it would certainly be SE. Why would the peeps at Karma even mention, bring up, or in any way shape or form relate themselves to Se unless they had some sort of malicious and poossibly illegal intent from the get go? Why not just tell everyone "hey, we make microphones, they sound good and they are cheap". I might actually consider buying one then. Also, I find it impossible to believe that there was ever any confusion about any factories. It sounds surprisingly like an excuse that my 6 year old could come up with. Am I honestly suppose to believe that they started a company with a chinese partner and actually know nothing about the other parties operations? This whole thing is starting to sound a whole lot like the Blue crap. As a point of reference, I supported BLUE from day 1 on that issue as well. Now you all know how I stand, even based on fairly minimal information:)

Now, you're very lucky in that you don't have to fish around at this end of the market. For those of us who do, things like this are quite important. I know 'Karma' won't be getting any of my hard-earned money ... I want to get the best I possibly can at a price point, and part of that is knowing I can trust the backup for a cheaply-produced product. I wouldn't trust these guys or their cheerleaders as far as I could throw them (and it's almost 2am and I've had a couple of drinks, so that really wouldn't be very far at all  ).

Ok everyone I placed my order for my microphone. It will be getting here soon. I will take some pics of it and record some samples.

It shouldn't take too long for it to arrive from your own warehouse!!!

Of course, if you happen to be a genuine customer (yeah, right) then shame on you for buying after all this has come out. Only someone with an agenda would bother to still try to hype these mics up here, when it's clear that the silly marketing scam has been rumbled and nipped in the bud and what's left is another needless startup in an over-full market ... where there are already plenty of GOOD companies who are trustworthy and care about their customers ... unlike 'Karma' who don't seem to have a problem with bare-faced lying in order to get their 'company' going.

Interesting........

Karma = Hellbound

Where are the pics and the clips?
