I'm a musician, composer, producer, amateur engineer, and newbie gear enthusiast from Ontario, Canada! Glad to be joining HomeRecording - I've been reading plenty of threads here recently and I figured it wouldn't hurt to join
I play keys and violin (and can hold a basic groove on drums), and perform lots of classical music (soloist, orchestra musician, etc), but have lately been exploring Celtic/progressive/"fusion trad" fiddle music, hence the gear listed below. As well, I've started writing some songs (as opposed to composing, which I've been doing for a long time now) which usually end up sounding (at least musically) like Steely Dan/Toto/Fleetwood Mac/etc.
[I've only recently started accumulating gear, so my list is short enough to be listed]:
1x Behringer Eurodesk SX2442FX (mixer)
2x Wharfedale EVP-X15 MKII (speakers)
2x On-stage speaker stands
1x Behringer KM1700 (amplifier)
1x ZOOM H6 (6-track recorder)
2x Shure SM81-LC (SDCs)
3x Behringer XM1800S Dynamic Mics (SM57 knockoffs - actually quite good)
1x Line 6 wireless headset mic system
Two major deficiencies are... mic stands (I only have 1 somewhat untrustworthy boom stand) and cables (2x 25ft, 1x 3ft XLRs)
