Remember the show, never liked the song too much. You did it justice. The drums are spectacular in the intro/outtro. A quick fill on the toms, but nice to hear them ring for more than a second. Everything else sounds awesome (as usual!!)

Nice to hear the wife involved. My wife is taking violin lessons and I'm hoping to have her recording in a year.

Dont know the show but if they were to do a far superior hollywood remake this would make a great updated theme tune

Funny i used to think your old mixes were clean...this is sparkling

kcearl if you were to watch 1 episode you would have a pretty good idea why Sherman Hemsley/George Jefferson is Greg's favorite character. I was initially a little suprised by his post, but realized it made perfect sense.

Thanks a lot KC. I lucked out with this song. It just all fell together. I made this one mix and haven't done one tweak yet and I'm still satisfied with it. It's always the goof-off stuff that comes out the best. :laughings:

Awesome. Thanks dude. I think my old lady gained a new appreciation for the recording process. It's one thing to sit around and play an instrument or sing in the shower. It's something else to give a performance for the world to potentially hear. Her anxiety ramped up once I stuck a mic in front of her and pressed record. She did great though. Yeah it took a few takes, but she got it. :guitar:

WTF is that supposed to mean, you deadbeat honkie? ;)

He gave me a step by step course on hwo to EQ, compress and pan drums.

I like what you're doing, Ray. I wish I had the energy to join you.

I'll just say this. I don't think anyone's blind to the fact that Greg has pissed off the mods more than once. But, if he's banned, so should a mod or two, as he/she/they are also guilty of "not being liked" by many members, and are also guilty of abusing their powers. I've seen a mod or two being 20 times more obnoxious as Greg has ever been, and engage in complete jackassry.

Too bad we don't have the power to ban a mod when it's warranted.

you have the power to PM chater your thoughts though :thumbs up:

She won't take it seriously. She'll just say it was a "concerted effort" and blow it off. Nah, I always protest with my feet. In a store, on a website.....whatever.

Let us know what you decide Rami, I think Gregs been in touch with Chater...she got quite a few PMs questioning whether the ban was the right decision and she said she will listen...

But if you move site id like to keep up with your tunes anyway..

greg's gonna be back I think and probably sooner rather than later but yes, RAMI isn't allowed to lose contact with us!
:D

Sherman used to come into the record store I used to work at in Hollywood in the late 80's (Aron's on Melrose, and later on Highland between Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards). He'd have his assistent stand in line, hated confrontations over his taste in music, and we used to tease him lightheartedly (I don't think he liked that, and I think that's why he brought his assistant to stand in line. He'd make his choices and hit the door) about The Jeffersons and the stock things he always said on the show. Personally I think that he was much more tha George Jefferson, and that he felt trapped in that role as did many other typecast actors of the 70's and 80's. Remember, there wasn't 8 million genres of everything and 80 million sources for entertainment. He was pretty well recognized around the world. RIP, you prog rock loving drycleaner.

Way, way, way too late in this, but I don't get around to doing anything other than building my new studio and working to be able to pay for it. Anyway... This song rocked on all levels. Snare was awesome, as well as everything else. I'm gonna listen to this at least 10 times before I fall asleep tonight.

*excellent* tracking / mixing work.

Dude that looks brilliant, totly jealous...loved the progression of the studio design, loads of great info in that thread...

You all realize that Sherman has yet to be laid to rest right?

His will has been contested and is still on ice in the morgue!
