A warm Buzz from the Green Hornet:

Who has been the "first" to push the buttons on the New Yamaha AW 2816? Who? Who? Who? This box looks like exactly what I need. Digital all the way and a CD burner enclosed. HOW TOUGH IS IT TO RUN?

Thanks to anyone who has actual GNUS of this new box.

hey hornet
ive had a Aw4416 for about 12 months..great machine...
from what i understand the 2416 is almost identical to operate.
there is a learning curve but not a big deal... if you havent had much experience with digital recording it will take a week or two to get the hang of operation but overall pretty intuiative(esp.with prior multitracking experience.

Thanks for the information. I've been using Yamaha products, recorders, MD8, keyboard, etc. So, I guess I can cut the AW2816 with some effort and push and hope the button works.

The ad in Musician's Friend said the 2816 was "easier" to operate!! Well, I guess I'll find out if I buy one which I think I will. Thus, I'll have one unit for the whole works instead of an outboard CD burner alone.

You are using the 4416 which has been out there a while. I know it's a good machine I just dread a long learning curve. I took me a couple of years to really understand and appreciate the Yamaha DX-7; also, four additional manuals, some audio cassetts -- all provided by Yamaha -- and a couple of DX-7 manuals for "Dummies;" however, I sure do love that keyboard now.

I hope the new AW4428 comes without bugs!

Thanks again,
Green Hornet
