Hey there,
I have a question regarding the final mixdown of my beats. Basically here is the setup that I am using. After I have gathered all the samples and live instruments, I assign each to a different track in Pro Tools and align them up accordingly. Then, I transfer each track onto a separate track on a Boss BR-8 Digital 8-track recorder I have. For example, one track will be the drums, one will be a sample, another track will be a guitar track and so on. This makes it a whole lot easier to play around with each track and so I can listen in real time while I perform the final mixdown. However, it seems like I'm not always getting the best sound quality on my final mix. I was wondering if there were any sort of effects, or enhancers, to make my final mix sound better and cleaner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Peace.

I'm not familiar with the Boss BR-8, but by transfering the samples/loops over to the recorder, you're (in my opinion) basically going from Porsche to beetle. You should strap some compressors over the individiual channels to get the proper "Oomph".
If you got a problem with a messy mix it might do you some good to cut the mud in the mix (30-60Hz) and use an exciter which add some shine'n'sparkle to it.
It's a time consuming task and that's why we have mastering engineers :)
You're best of trying it and see the difference, but you should have a set of speakers that doesn't colour the sound and give you a "close to average" impression on how it will sound on different speakers. From huge set ups to pc monitor to headsets.
