I'm pretty sure the guitarist from the Max Weinberg 7(Conan OBrian) has it figured out when it comes to using the perfect guitar... Some of the stuff he uses makes my mouth drop.
Just an example of someone who uses different guitars depending on the sound needed. Although he probably switches it up so often just because he can afford all those fancy pants guitars and would feel guilty if he didn't get them all out at some point! This is probably way off topic at this point.. :)
 
I've never played a Strat with a decent neck. All they ever have on the lefty's is a clunky C-style. I wanna play one with a V-shape. Nicely figured maple too no rosewood.

I've never played a perfect strat but everyone has their preferences. Some day when I'm old, I'll blow some of my retirement funds on a custom made strat and tweed amp. :)

There's no such thing as a perfect guitar. There's way too many cool guitars and it would suck limiting yourself to one.

Absolutely weird, have played a les paul for 40 odd years and got a telecaster 2 years ago. Love the sound of the tele but cannot for the life of me play lead on it. A friend of mine has played strats all his life and cannot get used to a gibson neck. I guess it's what you are used to. When in doubt have one of each.
 
I've always been fond of the single coil strat sound but simply HATE the volume knob placement. I like to hug the pup mount with the pinky and the dang thing's always in the way.

I bought my buddy's Carvin guitar with coil taps. gets the fantastic strat sound and plays like a dream.
