Hi all I've done some small tweaks to the track and was hoping you guys could have a quick listen.

I agreed with your comments about the snare being too weak so I've blended a fatter snare in, Hopefully It's done the trick? I've also cut 2 or 3db off 50hz on the bass drum and generally tidied up some stuff. Oh and added some dodgy vocals

I also stuck magneto on the output to see what it would sound like.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Wow...man, I like your lead tone a LOT. Is that an SG, by any chance? I thought I was listening to Angus himself.

I thought the mix sounded pretty good, but there MAY be too much low end overall. Something I think a final EQ tweak below 100Hz on the overall mix might fix. The kick sounds real, and I assume it is. It sounds like you tried to boost some lows that maybe weren't there to begin with in the kick, and it sounds pretty woofy.

Oh yeah, OR...it could be fine. I wouldn't take my word for it. I thought this was cool, btw.

Thanks mate The lead aint an SG, close tho It's a LP studio with pups from a 58 reissue in + tone rolled off to about 6-7 on the bridge, through a POD.

Drums are from a boss dr770 which I think uses sampled drums. So in a way yes they are real Unfortunately because I recorded the drums as a stereo file from the dr770, I have little control over them

That magneto seems to add a hefty amount of bass so perhaps if I remove it or tone it down a bit, it will be better. Thanks for the input mate

For grins, I cut it about 3db @63Hz, and about 2db at 50Hz and 80Hz, then limited it by boosting the whole mix about 1.5db. At least on my system, it cleared up a lot of the "woof" I was hearing on the kick, and the highs are coming out a little cleaner too.

When I hit the "loudness" button after doing this (i.e., the way people listen in the "real world," it sounds good... Just a thought.

Event Ps-5 nearfield's that I've had for a grand total of 2 days. The range is only from about 50Hz to 20Hz (thus the lack of total confidence in my low end assessment). But the way I figure, if I'm getting too much low end on these, I figure it's probably there. Obviously, I'm not used to the speaks yet, so I hope somebody else listens to give their thoughts. I've got a decent soundcard, so I don't think it's coloring the mix.

Did I mention that i love that guit tone?

Thanks mate, always helpful to know what people are listening on I know what u mean about the "woof" I think a lot of it is down to me recording the drums with reverb from the dr770 (oops) I probably should just re-record them but I'd rather work out WHY they aren't right before I do, if ya get me.
I'll give those frequencies a listen and see what they sound like on my yorkvilles. (been mostly mixing with cans on this cos it's been late whenever I get a chance) Also the bass geetar is uncompressed, so when I get round to doing that it should tighten it up a bit aswell

Smooth laid-back ballsy bluesy Britty Rock. Moves well, able to listen with no strain - like, no thought about the thing 'cause it just glides bye, ends, and I go, hey, where'd that go? Need to listen again, a good thing, ya know? Too short.

Sound quality very good, once again, didn't think about your sound quality b/c it was all there. (I'm listening on crap, but it works for comparison since i listen to everything on it... In need of monitors...and other things...)

Ya, it went down easy all right. Neat tune. I thought the mix was pretty cool. The bass drum was maybe a little bouncy.
That lazy lead passage is just killer.

The snare sounds 100 times better. Good job.
The kick sounds a little bit better - but you already know you need to work on it.
The vocals add a lot to the song. I like how they're pretty buried. It fits the overall feel very nicely.
Great song. It doesn't remind me as much of Sonic Youth as the first take, but you should still check them out.
