I bought a audix D4 for my kick drum about a year and a half ago and i've only really used it once. the other day i went to use it and there was very little signal comming from it. i checked everything and couldnt hear anything unless i cranked my monitors and faders and just taped on the mic. i've never dropped the mic or done anything that would cause it to break so im trying to figure out if theres any suggestions for how i can fix this problem

i don't mean to sound like an ass, but did u try a different cable?

yeah sorry i forgot to put that in. i tried using differnt cables that i know work, checked the inputs on my mixer, everything

i lightly tapped on it and heard nothing unless i cranked my speakers all the way up and had my faders at their highest

it could be that either the hot or cold wire has become disconnected from the XLR connector inside the mic casing. you should be able to remove a screw, and the connector should pull out.

and then if i do that what would i do afterwards? just push it back to place?

violence is the answer

dude, that sucks. check everything's fine inside the mic or if you dont now what you're doing take it to someone who knows about it
